Kahuku
is located on the north shore of the island of Oahu, along Highway 83 between Kawela and Laie. With the beautiful Kualoa Mountains in the background, and the sparkling blue Pacific at your feet, Kahuka offers amazing views in any direction. Outdoor recreation opportunities include swimming, surfing, snorkeling, horseback riding, hiking, and golf. Kahuka is home to two wonderful golf resorts, Turtle Bay and The Links at Kuilima. The later is a challenging course that was designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay. You will also enjoy visiting the Kahuka Mill Shopping Center, an old sugar mill that has been turned into a tourist attraction. It’s opened from 9am to 5pm and visitors can take a self-guided tour of the mill, and also watch artisans at work on their crafts. A gift shop and Mexican restaurant are also on the premises. Kahuka is just twenty minutes from the historical town of Haleiwa and just a few minutes to the famous Polynesian Cultural Center where you can watch outdoor dance and music shows and experience the food and crafts of the island natives.

Northeastern Oahu is part of the wet windward coast and has a subtropical climate. The prevailing northeasterly trade winds are a dominate factor in the climate of Oahu, and even the warmest months of the year are comfortable due to the blowing trade winds. The average air temperature ranges from 74 to 88 degrees with moderate humidity of around 53 percent during the day. The island has two mountain ranges that serve to separate the moist windward (east) side from the drier leeward (west) side. Showers occur almost daily on the windward side, most frequently during the evening hours. There are no distinguishable season changes on the island of Oahu, although it is usually a few degrees warmer in the summer months.
