Pupukea is located on Oahu’s famous North Shore, just outside Haleiwa Town overlooking Waimea Bay. Pupukea Beach Park is a beautiful little cove and beach located within a marine conservation reserve, that’s a good place to swim, snorkel and scuba dive in summer. However, it can be very dangerous in winter due to high waves, so caution is advised. Shark’s Cove at Pupukea Beach Park is especially famous for its’ snorkeling. It’s filled with coral formations, lava caves, seaweed and different species of fish (but don’t worry, there are no sharks here, despite its’ name.) Just over a mile away are some of the most pristine beaches in the world, including Sunset Beach, which is one of the prime surfing areas on Oahu, and Ehukai Beach, home to the famous Bonzai Pipeline. Other activities available in the area include horseback riding, hiking and golf. A short drive from Pupukea will take you to quaint Haleiwa Town (site of television’s Bay Watch Hawaii) and home to many art galleries, shops and cozy restaurants. A little further is the village of Waialua, a former sugar plantation town that boasts the Old Sugar Mill Marketplace. Pupukea is just a forty-minute drive to the airport and less than an hour from Waikiki.

The island  of Oahu%u2019s climate has its%u2019 greatest contrast between the dry season, which extends from May through October, and the wet season, November through April. Major widespread rainstorms, which account for the bulk of the precipitation in the area, usually occur nearly every day during the wet season, but are infrequent in the dry season.
