Napili
is on the northwestern coast of Maui between Honolua and Kahana. The beach at Napili Bay is considered to be one of the most beautiful white sand beaches in the world, and the village of Napili has all the charm you’d expect in an old Hawaiian town. Napili Bay Beach is undoubtedly one of Maui’s best-kept secrets and is one of the finest for swimming and snorkeling. Nearby Honokeana Cove is also an excellent spot for snorkeling, swimming or watching the large variety of turtles that live in the cove. You will also find golf and tennis, horseback riding, shopping and a variety of restaurants nearby. There is a fine restaurant on the beach, just a few feet from the ocean, with an outdoor bar that’s a wonderful place to sit back and watch the sun set while enjoying a cool beverage. Napili is usually never as crowded as the other popular tourist spots on Maui, and is conveniently located just five minutes from the Kapalua West Maui Airport, and Kahului Airport is approximately a 50 minute drive away.

The northwestern tip of Maui is one of the driest and most sunny spots on the island. This region receives only about 12 to 15 inches of rainfall per year, mostly in the winter months, as compared to Hana on the east side which receives 90 inches per year. The prevailing trade winds serve to keep temperatures very pleasant and comfortable, even during the warmest months. The winds are from the northeast at about 5-15 miles per hour. Humidity is moderate to high, but due to the natural ventilation of the winds, the weather is seldom oppressive. In winter, Kona winds come from the opposite direction and usually indicate that bad weather is on the way. However, severe storms are rare on Maui.
